“The Miser is the meanest man you’ll ever meet. His heart is hard; his fist is tight; his neck is brass.” In 17th Century England all the members of a wealthy miser’s family have fallen in love. Romance, however, isn’t the first thing on the mind of the old skinflint, who plans to save some dowry cash by marrying off his children against their will.

But when he and his son become enamoured by the same young woman, and it turns out the servant his daughter’s set on marrying, isn’t actually a servant at all, it becomes clear that there is more than just the family fortune at stake.

Matchmakers, moneylenders, missing Lords and lost family treasure, all add to the resulting spiral of outrageous, comic confusion - leaving the miser as nervous as a kitten. Because when it comes to money, who can you trust these days?
